4th of july

spent the day doing another 2 miles swim .. thought we were going to explore a few new channels but decided to just head up to the furthest one like we had before and end up near the hwy (well in the water next to it). going up wasnt to bad as the current was going our way. just a nice relaxing swim for the most part. coming back however was a pain in everyones butt to put it nicely and it wasnt so much the current as it was fighting the wind. once we got out of the channel though it wasnt so bad.
the semi sad part was that we missed out on watching the parade. yes i like to say how much its stupid and goofy that so many do this parade but at the same time i know its just folks having a good time celebrating the 4th of july.. its kind of nice to sit in the water near the boat docks and just watching it as it drives by on the street. but we knew that we werent going to make it, it wasnt due to lack of trying just the simple fact that we were to far when we heard all the parade noise going by. ah well maybe we will catch it next year.
after that long swim we all headed home to get cleaned up for our mashmellow roast and to watch the fire works...

sadly this year we couldnt see the EI ones as they had moved them. they used to fire them off the one peir that has managed to either survive the hurricanes or be repaired when needed after a hurricane. the peir is privately owned and it used to be that the owner was the only one who for years would fork out the money for fireworks for the town. eventually the town started to pitch in to help pay for the fireworks and it continued to be held at the end of the peir ~ that is until this year. the last storm that blew threw, blew down the sign on the main road that pointed to the peir (name and arrow) and when the owner wanted to put it back up.. the town told him *nope* soo he said *lets see what you do at fireworks time*
so this is the first year that they werent blown off the end of that peir. the town found a new place to blow them off (town owned) and from the end of our neighborhood you cant see them anymore *pouts*
we did get to enjoy the ones that folks here blew off which was cool.. and we got to enjoy our marshmellow roast which was nice. the boys look forward to it every year.
i brought clyde with me and was soo proud of how good he was.. this was both his and owens first year seeing fireworks! saddly ron had to work so he couldnt be there with us *pouts again*

today (july 4th) my owen is officially 11 months old.. only one more month to go until we are celebrating his first birthday.. this year just seems to be flying by faster than ever.. some days i just wish it would slow down ~

on my *lemonade* side of life.. it seems to be stuck in limbo right now.. still searching for the sugar and its no where to be found.. maybe someday someone will go to the store and buy the sugar so that the lemons can be turned into lemonade.. until than i guess im stuck standing here with scoup in one hand and spoon in the other stirring the pitcher until sugar can be added...

ending on a semi funny note ~ before the fireworks started my sister and her husband were standing outside cooking dinner.. when a truck came by and tossed trash out of there window (the nerve) ~ when they came by again my sisters husband stopped them and asked if they were residents of the town? they said *no* when asked if they were vacationers again they responded with *no* .. than said that they were here for the 4th and so he said *well reguardless around here we dont litter* and made them get out of there truck and pick up the trash they tossed out of their window.. you dont know how much i WISH that i could have seen that one..
why do people litter like that?

ooh and i think i have the people at the end of the road scared for tomorrow.. due to folks not abiding by the leash law and just letting their dogs run free at the water, i have decided to let my clyde do the same.. i mean if they dont have to do it why should i? right? drives me NUTS.. one dog is known for peeing on peoples things.. yet he is down there and not on a leash where he can be kept near his owners stuff to just pee on it..
not to mention the other dogs that just freely roam around down there.. so i put out the word that i was going to let clyde run free and was looked at like i was some crazed weirdo. uh why? clyde is not a mean dog.. hes not aggressive... hes just happy! for some reason one kid said he was going to tell his mom to not come tomorrow.. why? it was her father in laws dog that was running free and her father in laws other dog that pees on peoples stuff if left where he can lift his leg to it.. sorry folks but i dont enjoy putting on peed on shoes any more than you will enjoy my clyde in your lap saying hello to you while your trying to sunbathe ~
