we headed to jacksonville yesterday morning to go pick up mothers new (to her) durango.. and than while ron headed home, her and i headed to sams club so she could pick up a few things. after that we headed to the house to drop off the cold stuff and than straight up to the car wash for a quick wash off of her new car before having to have it parked in the driveway for the boys to check out in detail when they got off the buses.. after that it was to morehead city to bed, bath and beyond to pick up a huge umbrella for mothers back porch and than finally after installing it home..
now im happy, thrilled that mother loves her new to her suv but my god how many times do i have to hear how *perfect* it is? how pretty it is? i was so over hearing it by the 50th time it wasnt funny. but i know its new, so i understand she is happy and excited and all that jazz.. and i know it has more features than she has ever had in a car new or not.. and i will even admit that some of the never had features, just really shock me.. like i thought everyone has had one of them remote door unlock things.. but apparently not *lol*
now the reason for the umbrella for her back porch is at the end of last summer we acquired a small pool from some folks in the neighborhood, they were giving it away because their grands grew out of it and they had decided to just get a membership to the aquatic and wellness center.. so we jumped on the deal (can you really beat free even when its only 10 foot wide and 3 foot deep?) .. unfortunately we have raked our heads over and over again on where we could set it up this year and we cant think of anyplace here to set it.. we had considered on the porch but there isnt enough room, the driveway is gravel and i can so see holes in an instant not to mention the only space in the driveway would block boats going in and out.. we had considered in the back yard but again.. where? sure the yard is a great size but your dealing with on the grass and im not sure how clyde would do with it out there and this is one of them pools where if the side goes down, your in for a hurting water bill wise because it will continue to drain until there is little to no water left.. and lastly the grass that could grow through it would be horrible. weve had a pool before with a soft bottom here and grass was straight threw it by the end of summer..
so the answer to all is mothers back porch where it will fit just fine but we have to worry about her zillions of pine trees (i think she is trying to grow her own forest) which is why we bought the umbrella, it wont cover the whole pool but a good huge portion of it.
my only concerns are when she decides to get in a mood, the boys will be out the pool to swim in, not that we havent survived every summer for the past 17 years without a pool but still.. we have the sound at the end of the street that the guys like to swim in but still.. i guess that could be our back up. its just gotten so bad down there in recent years with the neighborhood drunks its not funny.. weekends are a total no go at the end of the road because of how bad it gets down there..
im sure you will still see us from time to time down there but not as much as we used to be as long as we have use of the pool. plus if one kid dont feel like swimming they can watch a bit of tv or play a bit of xbox instead.. of course when i pointed that out to little ron he told me of last summer when mother had a smaller pool on her porch and how they were forced to go out there even if they didnt want to.. which is when i explained that i would be there and i dont have that rule.. if a kid dont want to swim why would you force them too? oh yeah because she expects all the grands to be the same ..
little ron loves outside, riding bikes, fishing, swimming, etc.. wyatt not so much.. and owen so far loves being outside.. my oldest nephew is one of the biggest book worms you will ever meet and my younger nephew is more like wyatt.. enjoys going out but not as much as little ron does..
as for today, today started off not good at all *blah* i hate when you wake up in the morning and its not long before you realize its not going to be a good day dont you?
first of all ron had been up since some ugly hour in the morning and by the time it was time for me to get up, he was ready to crawl back into bed.. this of course put a damper on our plans to run to walmart and get our shopping done *joy* but i do get he was super exhausted so shopping can wait until tomorrow after a hopefully good nights sleep for us both tonight.
than a bit later ron called me to tell me the bug guy was at mothers house. now please understand this is a great company price wise, they do their job well and the guy himself is super nice.. always smiling and in a good mood and loves to joke around and laugh.. not to mention a retired marine who worked with the old guy while they were both active duty..
anyways.. so i call and tell mother that he is there and i get my butt chewed by her *he better not be* well sorry but he is .. *they are supposed to give me notice.. * to which i said *well ron said they called but he didnt get the message until his o'dark hundred wake up and forgot to tell me they called when he laid down.. but no one told them to come or not*.. to which she ranted at me about him being there.. maybe im weird but ive got 3 kids and there are days that he walks into my disaster zone to find me in my jammies with my hair in a towel on my head .. he needs to be thankful i put a bra on real quick *lol* .. so why mother is freaking out on the phone with me i dunno..
finally i told her to just fire him if she was so unhappy with him being there.. i know what it is because i know our bug guy.. he was in the area and they are only here a few days a month.. he knew she hadnt said yes or no but as long as he had a minute thought he would stop to see if she wanted him to spray so that he could get her done without being late on the spray.. you have to understand while mother was in colorado we battled her huge flea problem and thats how our bug guy became hers as well.. we bombed.. we sprayed.. we did everything in our power to get rid of them and yet they were still there.. so yeah we needed the big guy out there and he came and concord her flea problem. which is why they are still calling ron instead of mother when its spray time.. even though she could have changed it she would rather have us take care of it for her *rolls eyes*
well ron called me a bit later and told me that he was on the phone with the bug guy when he went to the door and he said mother was rude to him saying *well you didnt tell me you were coming, shouldnt you have at least asked before just showing up* uh he was doing YOU a favor.. he was here and knew he wouldnt be back until later.. he offered to reschedule and she said *no your here you mind as well get it done* argh!! he tried to hand her his phone to talk to ron and she was rude about that saying *he already knows whats going on* excuse me?
so i called her and put her in her place.. told her to give him her number so they can call her directly because im tired of the bull.. i mean please! the guy went out of his way when he had time to spray her house even though no one confirmed it.. he felt *it doesnt hurt to ask* he offered to reschedule if the time wasnt right.. she refused so get off it already. plus it was just minutes before noon.. not like some horrid early morning hour.. and what is she doing anyway but laying around the house? nadda .. nothing.. ziltch!!
than the old guy and religious one had bad news come in and that started another drama filled few minutes *joy*
today is just one of them days!!
at least its now counting down till bedtime and than we can start over tomorrow. thats the positive thing about todays.. theres always a tomorrow and a start to a whole new day!
